Terms and Conditions of the Supply of Goods

 

The following terms and conditions apply unless otherwise stated in writing during a transaction.

1. The following terms and conditions shall apply to all orders placed with The Northumberland Shepherd Hut Co Ltd unless otherwise agreed with us and confirmed by us in writing.

2. ORDERS

2.1 Orders will only be accepted on receipt of payment (see 3. PAYMENTS below).

2.2 Any variations to orders must be confirmed in writing. Verbal instructions will not be acted upon unless agreed.

2.3 Cancellations of orders must be in writing and will only be accepted subject to payment of all costs incurred.

3. PAYMENTS

3.1 Payment becomes due immediately from the date of order unless otherwise stated on the invoice.

3.2 In the event of late payment of accounts we reserve the right to suspend or cancel every contract made with the customer without prejudice to our rights.

3.3 Our Shepherd Hut orders require an initial payment of 50% of the total balance upon order. A further 40% will be paid at the beginning of the build process and the 10% balance 1 week before the delivery date. A pro-forma invoice will be raised to the value of the deposit if requested by the customer.

4. DELIVERY

4.1 Statements in any quotation or contract as to the time or date of delivery of goods or materials or for completion of any work are to be treated as an approximate estimate based on current trading conditions. We are not under any circumstances to be liable for loss or damage directly or indirectly caused or arising from any delays in executing or completing our contract or by reason of any defect in goods or materials supplied or work done by us.

4.2 Storage and insurance costs resulting from delayed dispatch will be for the clients account charged at £75 per week plus VAT.

4.3 Delivery to the clients address is not included in estimates or quotations unless specifically listed in the estimate or quotation.

4.3a Where delivery is included in the quotation, this is to the “kerbside” at the nearest convenient point of access to the delivery address unless previously agreed.

4.4 The acceptance of your variations or additional work may render inapplicable any completion date or price quoted in our original quotation.

4.5 Any additional journeys resulting in variations or alterations to the original designs are not included in the estimate and will be charged for separately at £80 per hour or part of.

4.6 Goods must be checked by the customer upon delivery. Any defects must be notified to us within 24 hours of delivery.

5. PRICES

6. 5.1 Estimated prices are subject to alteration without prior notice. We will endeavour to keep you informed of any additional costs to be incurred.

6. ESTIMATES

6.1 Estimates will be valid for a period of 30 (thirty) days.

6.2 Variations or alterations to estimated work could incur extra costs and must be confirmed to us in writing.

7. CLIENT’S GOODS

7.1 All goods coming into the workshop belonging to clients must be clearly labelled; otherwise The Northumberland Shepherd Hut Co Ltd will not be responsible for their loss or damage.

7.2 It is a condition of every contract and agreement that The Northumberland Shepherd Hu Co Ltd will not be responsible for client’s goods left on the premises of The Northumberland Shepherd Hut Co Ltd unless the value of such goods has been declared and accepted in writing prior to receipt.

8. WHERE WORK IS CARRIED OUT ON SITE

8.1 Quotations are based on carrying out the work during normal working hours and as a continuous job. An additional charge will be made for any work outside normal working hours or for any break in continuity resulting from altered instructions for work already in hand. The charge will be set at £80 per hour or part of.

8.2 If our employees are held up in their work for any reason beyond our control, any lost time will be charged to the client at £80 per hour or part of.

8.3 Our prices are conditional of the normal services of water, light, power and heating at no cost and when required.

9. COMMISSIONED FURNITURE & OTHER JOINERY

9.1 Delivery of commissioned work is subject to the terms under the heading 4. DELIVERY above

9.2 Cancellation of commissioned work must be notified to us in writing within 7 days of receipt of deposit. Any cancellations made after this time will incur a charge of up to 75% of the total cost.

10. PRIVACY POLICY

The Northumberland Shepherd Hut Co Ltd are committed to protecting your privacy. We will not disclose buyers’ information to any third party other than that which is necessary in the completion of your order (for example disclosure of delivery address to third party couriers). We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We will only make use of telephone contact details in relation to your current order or enquiry and will not use these for any subsequent unsolicited promotional or marketing activity without your consent.

The type of information we will collect about you includes:

• your name

• address

• phone number

• email address

• credit/debit card details

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.

The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly.

The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law.

If we intend to transfer your information outside the EEA (European Economic Area) we will always obtain your consent first.
